Yamito – Possibly considered the main character of SMO. Out of all of the Scion (including the Scion of the Moon, Ryu) Yamito is the most powerful, holding in him the potential to ascend to godhood. He’s trained as a Shinto priest, is quiet and reserved because of his power and is physically very frail. But his power defines him even though he’s deathly afraid of it. He’s the leader of the Scion after Ryu dies though he takes those duties as a curse. His hair is reddish-brown and tied in a ponytail at the neck, though he has long bangs that still fall out around his face. His eyes are black – they are his most defining characteristic. They’re deep and piercing yet show just how afraid and alone he is. His relationships are complicated. It’s implied he has an intimate relationship with Usagi(Sailor Moon), though he falls away from her since she’s devoted to Mamoru. Then he falls in love with Rei(Sailor Mars), despite the fact she hated him for the first half of the story. The two are desperate lovers after that, with the story bearing on the strength of their love. Yamito is in fiery conflict with Kage during the entire story, though he secretly wants to help him as much as he can and try and save him. Eve appears to be in love with Yamito during Rapture. Jikan seems to have an interest in him as well. Throughout the story, he sometimes sports wings…sometimes made of fire and sometimes just black feathers, though many times it’s just an illusion to the looker as his power manifests itself.
